Keorapetse Kolwane is a performer and session vocalist, composer and songwriter.
Keorapetse Kolwane (23) is a performer and session vocalist, composer and songwriter.
She is currently a student in the Jazz and Popular Music Department of Tshwane University of Technology. Prior to TUT, she did Basic Music Education, majoring in Voice at the campus of Performing Arts (COPA), Johannesburg in 2012.
Having begun music at the age of 11, performing and competing successfully, she represented SACSA at an International Student Convention for the enrichment of arts and performance held at the Western Kentucky University, USA.
She has toured throughout Egypt Cairo, New York, Washington D.C, Louisville, Orlando and Western Kentucky.
Keorapetse was recently selected at the annual Grahamstown National Youth Jazz Festival, amongst the countries top youth jazz musicians to be part of the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band of 2015. Together with the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band, they shot a recent billboard advertisement for Standard Bank International Joy of Jazz, being the first in the country to perform as a living billboard. This band has performed at major festivals like the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and the Johannesburg Joy of Jazz.
Keorapetse aspires mostly to influence young artists to dare to dream and pursue arts not only on a practical basis, but also educationally.
